The Pope has called for perseverance in the ongoing effort to establish a lasting peace in Northern Ireland.
Addressing tens of thousands of pilgrims at the Marian Shrine in Knock, Co Mayo, yesterday, he urged everyone to continue the work of reconciliation
Pope Francis made it clear that although he was not visiting the North, what was happening there was in his thoughts and prayers:
