John Perry says he is 'astonished' at the decision of Fine Gael to expel his son from the party.
In a statement issued this morning, he has described it as 'an attack on his family.'
Jude Perry's membership was revoked after promoting on social media the campaign for his father, who is running as an Independent general election candidate in the Sligo/Leitrim, North Roscommon, South Donegal constituency.
Speaking to Ocean FM News, John Perry says it's disappointing but he isn't surprised

Meanwhile, Jude Perry, who set up the first Young Fine Gael branch in Northern Ireland while he was a student at Queens University, says he received news of his expulsion by text.
Fine Gael Director of Organisation Paschal Donohue says under party rules no member is allowed to work on behalf of a non-Fine Gael candidate in an election.
But Mr Perry, who is in Washington at present, insists he is entitled to due process and to what he called 'a fair hearing.'
