Fuel prices have fallen to their lowest level in over a year and a half.
The latest survey from the AA shows the average price of petrol across the country is now 1 euro 59 cent per litre, the lowest it's been since September 2021.
The average diesel price is 1 euro 51 cent a litre, 9% lower than March of last year.
However the lower prices are expected to be short-lived.
Global oil prices have risen in recent weeks because of a cut in production, while Government levies on fuel which were scrapped in the aftermath of the war in Ukraine, are set to be phased out from June.
The reintroduction of levies of fuels by the Government has already been strongly condemned by a number of opposition TD's including Donegal Independent Deputy Thomas Pringle.
