Planning approved for McDonald's in Carrick-on-Shannon

An Bord Pleanala has upheld a decision by Leitrim County Council to grant planning permission for the new McDonalds restaurant in Carrick-on-Shannon.

The proposed drive-thru fast food outlet plans to build a two story restaurant and other facilities at the Rosebank Retail Park on the Dublin road.

The original decision made in September 2021 was appealed to the higher planning authority.

There had been concerns locally over the proximity of the a local school and traffic issues.
