Sligo County Council have voted to proceed with plans to build a new road maintenance depot along the N4.
Included in the development is a large salt warehouse depot, which will see four salt barns store 30,000 tons of salt.

The vote was passed despite a small number of councillors abstaining, while three councillors voted against amid concerns from local residents.
The depot will cover the entire North West region, as well as Longford, Galway, Mayo and Roscommon.
