A 41-year old man with close Donegal links is taking the online gaming world by storm.

And so far, few people know of him, hence the suitability of his online handle of 'PlayerUnknown.'

He is, in fact Brendan Greene, whose grandmother and mother Maureen come from Ballyshannon.

He lived in Kildare, where his father Hugh was based while in the Defence Forces.

Brendan has played a pivotal role in the creation of 'PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds', which has sold more than six million copies and has notched up sales of more than $200m for his employer.

Although based at Bluehole Studios on the outskirts of Seoul in South Korea, he now travels the world.

A former DJ, graphic designer and photographer, he never held a fulltime job and at one stage, was on the dole.

But now, such is his fame within the industry, that he has been courted by Microsoft and Sony.

And as his father, Hugh, tells Ocean FM News, his parents and family are very proud of him.
