Poll shows Fine Gael unlikely to retain Donegal seat

A new opinion poll on the five-seater Donegal constituency had suggested Fine Gael could lose its only seat it has in the constituency.

The poll, published in the Tirconaill Tribune suggests Fianna Fáil could win two seats while Sinn Féin is set to hold onto the two seats the party won in 2020.

Sinn Féin's Pearse Doherty, tops the poll, taking 26.61% of the first preference vote.

He is followed by Fianna Fáil's Pat 'The Cope' Gallagher on 13.88%, which would see him re-elected to the Dáil.

First time candidate Charles Ward of the 100% Redress Party is on 7%.

While the two Fine Gael candidates, John McNulty and Nikki Bradley are on 6.31 and 5.73% respectively.
