Sligo Fire Service is being praised after it was revealed it has the fastest response times in the country.
The performance of the Sligo Fire Service was highlighted at a county council meeting yesterday, Monday, during a report on Performance Indicators.
Councillors paid tributes to all those who work with the service, saying there was every reason to be proud of them, and that they were a credit to the county.
Sinn Fein Councillor Chris MacManus, speaking at yesterday morning's county council meeting, said it was important they were recognised and their role acknowledged:
