President Michael D Higgins has given a special mention to the community of Creeslough and Private Sean Rooney in his annual Christmas message.
The President came to Donegal in October following the tragedy, attending the majority of the funerals of the victims while also meeting the emergency services.
In his Christmas message, President Higgins extended his sympathies to all those affected:

Private Sean Rooney was laid to rest in Donegal earlier this week.
The 24 year old peace keeper, was killed in an attack in Lebanon.
President Higgins paid tribute to Private Rooney's family and assured all those in the Defence Forces that their sacrifices are appreciated:
