Donegal County Council is being called on to automatically include those who have registered to vote in the last eight months on the supplementary register for the coming general election.
Donegal general election candidate Thomas Pringle says Dublin City Council has agreed to include these voters, allowing them to cast their ballot in the election on January 8th.
It's after concern arose because of the new register will not coming into force until February 15th -- a week after the election
Deputy Pringle says it's important that those who want to vote can do so.

Sligo County Council says if a person is not on the Register of Electors, there is still time to apply for inclusion in the supplemental register for voting in the general election.
Application forms, which are available online, from the council, garda stations, libraries abd post offices, must be signed in the presence of and witnessed by a garda at a person's local station.
Completed forms must be received by the council by Wednesday, January 22nd.
Applications for inclusion on the supplemental postal and special voters list must be received by today, January 16th January.
