Two Donegal TDs are calling on the HSE to say when Seaview Respite House in Mountcharles will open.
The respite centre is being handed over to Rehabcare, which will be the new provider of respite services to families caring for those with disabilities.
Last March, the HSE said there would be an increase in the service from three to five days at Seaview House.
The previous November, there had been an announcement that a new service would be in operation at Seaview House by February.
Independent Deputy Thomas Pringle now says he has received confirmation from the HSE this week that further delays are expected in the handover to Rehabcare.
And the HSE has told Donegal Fianna Fail Deputy Pat the Cope Gallagher that it is currently undertaking final stages of fire compliance works, with plans for completion in November.
But Deputy Gallagher says the HSE has not given a precise date for the centre to open.
Deputy Pringle says he now fears that it may not open in November, as expected.
