Prisoner fails to return to Loughan House after being granted a temporary release

Gardaí are looking to locate a prisoner that went on the run after getting temporary release over Christmas from Loughan House Open Prison.

The Irish Independent are reporting that Philip Evans from Tralee, Co Kerry, failed to return to to the prison in Cavan on December 27.

He was granted temporary release over Christmas.

An Garda Síochána have been informed.

It is understood Evans was due to be released from prison later this year.
