An investigation has been launched into an alleged attempted theft at the Donegal Donkey Sanctuary.
The incident happened at around 8.30pm yesterday evening.
In a statement issued on social media last night, the owners of the Donegal Donkey Sanctuary said that a white car dropped a man off near the premises.
It’s understood that the man proceeded to walk up to the car park and made attempts to steal the collection tins.
It’s also claimed that when comforted, the man became very threatening.
The white car, believed to have been involved, left the scene and the man made off on foot.
The owners say that they were left badly shaken by the ordeal.
Gardai were subsequently called to the sanctuary and have confirmed that enquiries are ongoing.
Anyone with information or dashcam footage is being urged to make this available to Gardai.
