Public warned of cold water temperatures ahead of Bank Holiday

Members of the public across the north west are being warned that water temperatures are still cold.

The warning comes as the Coast Guard, RNLI and Water Safety Ireland have issued a joint water safety appeal as part of the February bank holiday weekend.

The organisations are asking people to take some basic precautions to stay safe and warm when they visit the coast or participate in water activities, be it coastal or inland.

Visitors to the North West are being encouraged them to seek local advice before engaging in any water or coastal activities.
