A Status Yellow rainfall warning is in effect for Connacht and Donegal, as well as for Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick
Heavy and persistent rain last night through to Friday morning will lead to some flooding and disruption.
Accumulations of 30mm to 60mm are expected widely, with higher amounts in mountainous regions.
The rainfall warning remains valid until 6am tomorrow Friday morning.
