It's been confirmed that record-breaking liners are set to cruise into Killybegs over the summer months.
In total 28 cruise ships are set to dock at the port this summer.
Beginning on the 16th of May, the 294 metre long Norwegian Star will make the first of four visits, breaking the previously held record for the longest ship to berth in Killybegs by less than the length of a ruler.
The previous record holder was Cunard's Queen Victoria in 2018 but the Norwegian Star will only retain the title for four months until it is broken by the 326m Norwegian Getaway on the 28th of September which will extend beyond the 300m pier.
Killybegs will also welcome first-time visitor Mein Schiff 3 at 293m and returning guest Arcadia at 285m.
It's expected that this will result in up to 50,000 crew and passengers descending on Killybegs and the wider North West area over the next few months.
