Recount completed: Barry Gallagher eliminated

The result of the recount in the Ballymote/Tubbercurry area has been completed.

It resulted in a reduction of one vote for each of three candidates, Michael Clarke, Dara Mulvey and Willie Gormley.

It found an extra vote for Paul Taylor but as he was already elected, that vote went to Gerard Mullaney.

The fourth count was the distribution of Paul Taylor’s surplus, as follows:

Baker (FF) +11 = 1521

Clarke (IND) + 1 = 1615

Connolly (FG) + 21 = 1214

Feeney (FG), no change at 1221

Gallagher (IND) +12 = 1109

Gormley (IND) +11 = 1186

Henry (FF) + 17 = 1109

Mullaney (FG) + 1= 1557

Mulvey (FG) + 1 = 1584

Queenan (FG) + 2 = 1775

Counters are now distributing the vote of Barry Gallagher, who has been eliminated.
