A new initiative is underway to celebrate unpaid carers throughout the region.
The Irish Red Cross is looking for nominations for the 2016 Irish Red Cross Carer of the Year Award.
It is open to anyone providing voluntary care.
Last year's overall winner was Bernie O Reilly from Cavan who cared for her son Damien who has cerebral palsy for more than 30 years.

Nomination forms for this year's awards are available from www.redcross.ie/carer2016.
They should be returned by the end of August.
The winner, who will receive a cash prize and a luxury hotel break, will be announced in November.
