Reduction in people waiting for a bed at North West hospitals

There has been a noticeable reduction in the number of people waiting for a bed in the North West's two main hospital's today.

 

27 people are awaiting a bed in Sligo University Hospital, down from 48 yesterday, and a further six are waiting in Letterkenny University Hospital, down significantly from 42 on Thursday.

82 people are on trolleys in University Hospital Limerick, the most impacted nationally.

 

Overall throughout the country today, 338 patients are awaiting for beds.

When it comes to Covid-19 patients receiving treatment in the region, four patients are in Sligo and 11 in Letterkenny.

 

378 patients are in an Irish hospital with the virus today, the lowest figure this year, 36 of whom are in an ICU.
