After more than a decade, it seems a firm starting date may at last be on the way for the long-awaited refurbishment work on the main street of Sligo Town.
A meeting of councillors from Sligo Municipal District yesterday heard a contract for the job on O'Connell Street will be signed in January.
The work is expected to take about 10 months.
