Report shows 33% of students fail to complete college courses at IT Sligo

New figures show 33% of students fail to complete their college course at IT Sligo.

The findings are contained in a study by the Higher Education Authority which monitored more than 34,000 students across the country over a 10 year period since 2007.

Elsewhere at Letterkenny IT the report shows 61% of students finish their courses with just 49% dropping out.

The study revealed  male students with relatively low Leaving Cert points are the highest risk of failing to complete their third level degree.

Dr. Vivienne Patterson from the HEA says their study found some courses have higher drop out rates than others.
