Sligo-based coast guard helicopter Rescue 118 was among those deployed in a multi-agency search operation on Thursday evening, which is still ongoing.
Following reports of a missing kayaker in the Gweedore Bay area of Donegal, the Bunbeg Coast Guard, Arranmore RNLI and Rescue 118 were tasked by Malin Head Coast Guard.

It’s understood Rescue 118 circled the area around Gola island for two hours after midnight on Friday morning before returning to base.

Bunbeg Coast Guard, Lough Swilly Arranmore RNLI crews along with a rescue helicopter from the UK resumed the search early this morning.
