Roads update from Sligo County Council, 5:30pm.

Sligo County Council is warning that continuous rain throughout the day has caused flooding in many areas.

Areas affected in Sligo town and its environs include:

-         Back Avenue-Cleveragh Road

-         Scotsman’s Walk

-         Ballytivnan Rd at entrance to St John’s Hospital

-         Roundabout at Carraroe Retail Park

In County Sligo, there is flooding on the ‘back road’ between Collooney and N17.

There are also reports of flooding on the N15 Sligo to Manorhamilton road.

Motorists and other road users are asked to take care on all routes as there is spot flooding in many areas.
