Roadworks between Donegal Town and Ballybofey are expected to last around nine months.
The works on McGroary's Brae Improvement Scheme are set to begin in the New Year.
Donegal County Council confirmed temporary traffic lights will be in place on the stretch of the N15 between Donegal town and Ballybofey from January 4th January until September.
A Council Spokesperson said that the first phase of the traffic management will include a stop/go system to reduce the carriageway to one lane to enable the contractor to construct the works and it is expected that there will be some delays during this period.
