A Donegal TD says the money spent on the visit of Prince Charles to County Donegal would have been better spent on a targeted promotional campaign for the county.
Independent Deputy Thomas Pringle was reacting to news that more than €15,000 was spent by the government on the Donegal visit.
€12,800 was spend on transport for the prince and his wife, Camilla, as well as €1,400 on photography and over €1,000 on catering.
The overall security for the prince's visit to Ireland for more than €700,000, according to Deputy Pringle, who says he disagrees that it was money well spent.
