Ryan urges communities before profits

We are 'writing cheques we cannot cash as a civilization.'

That's according to the Executive Director of the WHO Health Emergencies Programme, Dr. Mike Ryan.

The Sligo native was speaking at a Trocaire event where he received the Romero Award.

Ryan says we are creating the conditions where epidemics flourish and that we need a world where 'profit is not put before communities.'
