Sazerac Company purchase Lough Gill Distillery

The Lough Gill Distillery in Co Sligo has been bought by The Sazerac Company.

The Sazerac brands already include Paddy Irish Whiskey, Michael Collins Irish Whiskey, and Southern Comfort.

It’s expected that the Sazerac Company plans to fully develop the more than 100 acre site at Hazelwood House to create a new whiskey facility and visitor attraction.

When completed the Sligo facility could welcome up to 150,000 visitors annually.

Under the new ownership the company will look to increase the distillery's capacity, adding warehousing capacity and expanding production and bottling lines.  Additional jobs are also expected to come on line in Sligo.
