Seanad hears calls for more support for those impacted by Pyrite

There are calls for more supports for homeowners affected by Pyrite and mica damage in the West and North West of the Country.

Senator Victor Boyhan raised the issue in the Seanad recently. He says the current remediation scheme doesn't go far enough.

Too much Pyrite used during construction can lead to swelling causing cracks and other strucural damage, deffective mica blocks can cause simliar.

Senator Boyhan says homeowners face many financial difficulties if their property is too far gone.
