Search conducted off Rathlin O’Birne after reports of boat in difficulty

A multi-agency operation responded to a report of a boat in difficulty off Raithlin O'Birne.

Killybegs Coast Guard and Sligo-based Rescue 118 carried out an extensive search of the area.

However, the report was a false alarm with good intent.

The public are being reminded to contact 112 and ask for the Coast Guard, if you see anyone in difficulty on land or at sea.
