Search continues off Donegal coast for missing kayaker

The search for a missing kayaker off the Donegal coast has recommenced this morning.

The man, who is in his 50s, had set off from Machaire Gathlán pier north west of Gaoth Dobhair and was last seen on Thursday at about 7pm

A spokesperson for the Department of Transport confirmed that in support to An Garda Síochána, the Irish Coast Guard has resumed the search for the missing person.

Aranmore RNLI Lifeboat had resumed searching at 09.00 and Bunbeg Coast Guard unit have mobilised their search, boat and drone teams.

Irish Coast Guard R118 helicopter is also tasked with low-water searching.
