A Donegal TD has welcomed the announcement that a second breast surgeon will begin their post at Letterkenny University Hospital next month.
Deputy Thomas Pringle said that although the position is on a locum basis, it will help to reduce waiting list times at the hospital.
The Independent deputy also welcomed the news that the hospital's management are to establish a working group which will include representatives from the hospital and the Western Health and Social Care Trust in Northern Ireland.
The aim of such a group is to develop a long term cross-border link up in breast care services.
