The section of the N4 between Sligo and Boyle at Doon has reopened following a two-vehicle collision on Sunday evening.
A woman in her 80's died while the driver of the other car, a man in his 30's was brought to Sligo University Hospital for treatment to serious injuries.
The road was closed for a period following the accident, but has now reopened this afternoon.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
