Several drivers fined in Leitrim for parking in disabled bays

Several drivers have been fined in County Leitrim for parking illegally in disabled bays.

Gardai patrolled all towns in the County as part of Operation Enable in recent days.

Gardai sat tgar Fixed Charged Penality Notices were issued to several drivers who parked their vehicles in a Disabled Parking Bay without displaying a Disabled Persons Parking Permit (blue badge).

Gardai say that they hope to increase awareness to motorists that it is an offence under the Road Traffic (Traffic and Parking) Regulations to PARK or STOP in a Disabled Parking Bay and is subject to a Fixed Charge Penalty Notice of €150.
