Sinn Fein is calling for a higher payment for mountain-type land as part of the new ANC payment review.
Sligo Leitrim TD Martin Kenny says a review of the Areas of Natural Constraint is coming soon.
He says it has been postponed but not cancelled.
Deputy Kenny who is the party spokesperson on agriculture says the scheme is a vital support for people farming in the North West and it's essential that it is maintained and improved to protect the future of the family farm in the region.
