There’s been a sharp increase in rodent infestations in the North West.
That’s according to Rentokil, Ireland’s leading pest control provider.
Recent statistics indicate a 60% rise in mouse-related activity and a 7% increase in rat activity in January 2025 compared to the same period last year.
The data covers, Sligo, Leitrim, Donegal, Cavan, Monaghan, Mayo and Roscommon.
Cork had the most significant increase with a 94% rise in rat-related activity and a 44% increase in mice activity.
Limerick has seen a 31% rise in mice activity, while Dublin recorded a 29% increase in rat infestations.
