Those affected by the Shass Mountain landslide have been described as extremely patient, having waited almost three years for compensation.
It was announced yesterday that farmers and landowners are to receive compensation payments this week.
The landslide in Leitrim, which followed heavy rain, swept away the livelihoods of more than 20 farmers and up to eight foresters in June 2020.
Over 36 hectares of agriculture and forestry land were covered in tonnes of peat and vegetation.
