A Sligo/Leitrim general election candidate claims it is a disgrace to see the shop at St. Johns Hospital closed.
The shop, located in the Sligo based hospital, closed in recent weeks due to a lady who retired from working in the shop, claims Independent candidate Bernie O'Hara.
She claims that volunteers had stepped in to keep the shop open for a few hours a week, but no full time member of staff has been appointed to take over the facility and has now closed.
Bernie O'Hara says for many patients there, it was a great social outlet.
