Significant decrease in north west Covid-19 cases

There has been a significant decrease in the number of covid-19 cases detected in the north west.

Both Sligo and Leitrim reported 5 additional cases yesterday while the number of new cases in Donegal was less than 5.

Nationally there were 33 deaths confirmed yesterday from Covid-19 with 744 new cases.

There are currently 14 people in Sligo university Hospital being treated for covid-19 with 3 of those in ICU.

In Letterkenny University hospital 24 people are being treated for Covid-19 with 4 in ICU.

861 people are being treated across the Country for Covid- 19 159 in ICU.

176,926 have now received their first dose of the vaccine and 91,625 have received the second dose at this stage.
