SIPTU Housing Conference to address challenges facing the north west

Average monthly rents in the North West have increased significantly over the last five years.

They rose by nearly 40% in Leitrim while in County Sligo, rents rose by a third.

House prices have also skyrocketed in the region, with prices in Sligo and Leitrim rising by over half since 2017.

Homelessness has increased by 70% in the North West also over the last five years.

The data has been released ahead of SIPTUs Housing Conference which is getting underway tomorrow.
