A sitting Sligo councillor who lost his seat in the election says the changing of the electoral area boundaries was a major factor in his losing votes.
Fianna Fail's Seamus Kilgannon also says he didn't get the protection he deserved from his party running two party candidates in a five-seater area.
He feels three candidates should not have been run the Sligo/Drumcliffe area in which he was a candidate.
He made his comments to Ocean FM News while reflecting on the outcome of the election.
