The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Sligo is to close for a number of months for much needed repair works.
It’s set to close after Mass this evening and won’t reopen until Wednesday April 16th.
Work has already taken place towards repairing the roof and to renew the pointing of the stonework on the Cathedral.
Attentions are now turning to the cleaning and repainting of interior walls and surfaces.
For the duration of the closure, Liturgies are to be celebrated in Nazareth Chapel, Church Hill, Sligo.
The Adoration Chapel at the Cathedral will remain open during this time and the Cathedral car park will also remain operational.
