Two Sligo town centres have been included in a series of reports on International Protection Applicant Service Centres.
The reports, published by HIQA this morning, found mixed levels of compliance in at the centres inspected, the details of which have been published today.
The inspection in Milligan Court was carried out on the 29th and 30th of October. There were 124 residents in the building at the time of the inspection.
Milligan Court was found to be non-compliant with HIQA regulations regarding recruitment practices and a quality improvement plan had not been developed by the centre.
Not all staff members had completed the mandatory training required by the national standards.
While the accommodation provided to residents were homely and residents were generally satisfied, there were situations where the sleeping arrangements for families was not in line with the requirements of the sleeping protocols of the Housing Act 1966.
The inspection at Benbulben Court was carried out on the 27th and 28th of November. There were 80 residents in the building at the time of the inspection.
No non-compliant standards were found at the centre however, its risk management policy and risk register needed further improvement and implementation.
