A Sligo Councillor doesn't feel the Government's approach of handing out numerous payments to counteract the rising cost of living is the right thing to do.
The Budgets cost of living package includes a double social welfare payment from next Monday and another on December 5th - the autumn and Christmas bonuses.
While the lump sums for those on the fuel allowance, living alone allowance, working family payment or those with a disability will arrive in the week of November 14th.
Parents will get their winter double child benefit payment in the week of November 1st.
