Sligo councillor calls for increased late-night and early-morning Garda presence on The Mall

A Sligo councillor is calling for an increased late-night/early morning Garda presence in The Mall area of Sligo town, where there are licensed premises popular with students.

Sinn Fein Councillor Chris MacManus says he is not trying to label students but he had been approached by people in The Mall area concerned about noise levels and other issues.

He says it's at a lower level than anti-social behaviour but it is continuous.
