A Sligo Councillor has called for a clampdown on assaults of members of An Garda Síochana.
Assaults on Gardaí are on a steady increase, with the most recent attacks coming in the Clondalkin area of Dublin.
Speaking to Ocean FM News, Cllr Marie Casserly says that Irish people have a duty of care to protect Gardaí, who in turn protect citizens on a daily basis:
