Sligo Councillor is supporting calls on the Agriculture Minister to intervene and delay Coillte entering into a joint venture with a British investment fund.
It comes as there are major fears locally that the new fund will price farmers out of the land market along with other knock-on effects.
The fund aims to assemble a €200 million fund to create new forests and buy some existing forestry.
Sinn Fein Cllr Thomas Healy believes that it's something the Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture should examine urgently:
