Sligo Councillor claims Collooney-Coolaney road works will address safety concerns

A Sligo Councillor is claiming that recent Roadworks which have recently taken place at a railway junction situated on the Collooney to Coolaney road will help to address some safety concerns in the area.

However, Councillor Thomas Healy is warning that further works are immediately required to reduce the possibility of accidents taking place.

Sinn Féin Councillor Healy claims safety concerns have existed at the location for some time in relation to motorists and cyclists coming into this junction being unable to other vehicles approaching from the opposite direction.

The Sligo-Drumcliffe Councillor says more funding is needed to insert an enhanced drainage system and to widen the existing road.
