A south Sligo Councillor is calling for clarification from the HSE on the future of the day centre in Ballymote.
Independent Councillor Margaret Gormley shocked a meeting of the Municipal District yesterday by stating that local people are concerned the centre is due to close in the coming months.
However, Ocean FM News understands a potential move could be on the cards in light of the new health centre that is currently being built in the town as opposed to any closure of the service.
Ocean FM News is awaiting clarification from the HSE on the matter.
However, Cllr Gormley says regardless of a closure or move, the current building at the Rock in Ballymote was only renovated a few years ago.
She says any change would make no sense:
