Sligo County Council is calling on the Taoiseach and Minister for Health to support and respond in detail to the demands of the Standing 4 Women campaign.
The call follows a unanimously supported motion by Sinn Fein Cllr Chris McManus at this months meeting of Sligo County Council.
The demands of the campaign include legislation and policy on mandatory open disclosure and the provision of a start and end date of full disclosure on the 1800 smears yet to be audited.
The campaign also seeks details of new packages being negotiated with laboratories carrying out smear slide analysis including mandatory site audits.
Cllr McManus says these are very reasonable demands.
