The Local Authority in Sligo has granted planning permission for a large-scale residential development, consisting of 207 units on a 15-acre site at Oakfield Road in Sligo Town.
Novot Holdings Ltd has been granted planning for the development which will be made up of apartments, terrace houses and semi-detached houses.
The development will consist of 21 one-bedroom apartments, 37 two -bedroom apartments, four two-bedroom terrace houses, 99 three-bedroom terrace houses, four three-bedroom semi-detached houses and 42 four-bedroom semi-detached houses.
The planning application also includes for the provision of a crèche facility and pedestrian and cycle access along Oakfield Road.
More than 30 objections were submitted over the proposal to build 207 residential units.
It’s understood that concerns were raised over the volume of existing traffic on this road at peak hours, road safety, the scale of the development, traffic congestion and the height of the proposed apartments.
Planning permission was granted subject to the 23 conditions.
Parties may appeal the local authority's decision to An Bord Pleanála.
